You'll be picked up at port or hotel in Belize city. Kick off with a 35-minute boat ride from Belize City out into the Caribbean Sea. You’ll pass mangrove islands on your way to the island of Caye Caulker, Belize’s second largest island. Have your camera ready for the breathtaking views along the way. A quick stop on Caye Caulker is included so you can get changed and order an optional lunch for after the snorkel. Then, you’re just a 5-minute boat ride away from the second largest coral reef system in the world.
The snorkeling excursion starts off with 45 minutes at the beautiful Coral Garden. Here, you’ll get to see the colorful reef and fishes and get comfortable with your snorkeling gear. Snorkel pros will enjoy the variety of marine life on offer, including large Elk Horn corals, Brown and Purple Sea Fans, Bright Orange Stag Horn, Pencil Coral, Finger Coral, and Yellow Tube Sponge. If you’re a beginner, don’t worry. Your guide will be there to point out the highlights so you won’t miss a thing.
Once you’ve tested the waters, it’s time for the main attraction: Shark Ray Alley and a 30-minute snorkel with Nurse Sharks and Sting Rays. These gentle creatures will happily swim around you as you have a taste of what it’s like to be in their world. When you’re able to drag yourself away, you’ll be treated to a snack and some Rum Punch, a local favorite. The tour also includes some time to relax on the beach at Caye Caulker so you can get a true taste of island life before heading back to the mainland.
